On My Bookshelf

I haven’t always loved to read.  In fact, I have a very vivid memory of me in high school laying with my head in my mother’s lap and her reading A Christmas Carol to me.  I had procrastinated and it was due for my Honor’s English class.  I think I even watched the movie just prior to the test.  And let’s not even mention the Cliff Notes that I relied on so heavily.

I have no idea how I made it through high school and college.

As an adult though I have acquired a love for books.  I started easy with Nicholas Sparks.  The Notebook!  <swoon>    He was my favorite forever!  Then back in 2010, I got an Audible membership.  I drive a lot for work and this has been a God send!  I tried to give it up a few months ago in an effort to cut back on expenses but that was a no go!  I’ve got it back and love it more than ever.

New to me though is being involved in a book club.  My good friend Cara noticed all my Facebook reading posts and invited me.  I went for the first time last month.  This month, we read this book.

I have loved it so far and can’t wait to finish and meet with the club this week.  They are coming to my house this month and I am so excited.

I read another book from this same author and loved it too.  Highly recommend!

  1. Yes they do. Sometimes they make me sleepy and I have to turn them off but mostly I love it. I think the narrator can either make or break a book. I think sometimes I love books more because of Audible. Love you!
